No shame in pointing out hypocrisy

What a disgraceful and hysterical misrepresentation of my views by Ghanga Darin (on Friday)!

I never compared Israel's atrocities in 1948 to every Islamic terrorist attack over the last several decades. My comments were made in the context of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Darin now wants to pretend that he never wrote an earlier letter in which he totally defended Israel and referred to their atrocities as being "very limited terrorism". It was therefore perfectly appropriate for me to show that he's a hypocrite who engaged in the same biased reporting that he accuses The Nation of doing. For him to now claim that he "abhors Zionism" strikes me as insincere and disingenuous.

He furthers shows his hypocrisy when he concludes his letter by saying "Shame on you" if The Nation allows me to respond to his emotional tirade. While he believes he has the right to insult and smear anyone he wants - including all the Muslims of the world - he does not respect the rights of the people he attacks to defend themselves. As much as I detest this man I would never say "shame on you" for allowing him to express his views - as disgusting as they may be.
