I have made a rough calculation of the physical size of cash in Bt1,000 denomination for Bt200 million, Bt700 million and Bt1 billion. One would need six, 21 and 30 check-in suitcases respectively. With that number, can they be stored in a master bedroom or clothes cupboard?
In addition, why did Supot (the former Transport permanent secretary) alert police of the burglary when he could be suspected of wrongdoing in other matters?
Wouldn’t he be better off by losing Bt200 million and keeping Bt500 or Bt800 million? Or was his pride hurt by the audacity of those robbers?
When Chuan Leekpai was burgled while he was prime minister, he said with dry humour that being prime minister does not give him the privilege of not being burgled.
