High flyer Yam is low maintenance

Thapanee "Yam" Iadsrichai became a household name when she followed up the nightly soap operas on Channel 3 with even more gripping stories of the flood crisis for "3Miti" news.

Clad in her trademark street clothes and with no makeup, Yam became a trusted reporter “on the ground”, as they say, even when there was no ground in sight.
Now Hamburger magazine includes her among the “People you shouldn’t forget”. In one of the more revealing interviews she’s given since the catastrophe, Yam explains that there’s never makeup in her bag, only baby powder.
She scoffs at the thought of owning brand-name products. “My work doesn’t require it and I’d rather spend my money on my niece and nephew’s education,” she says.
After work she enjoys a little karaoke with friends. Count on Yam to tackle a bit of Bodyslam and Bew Kalayanee’s luk thung tune “Nobra Norah”.
Is it scary in the Skyreport helicopter? Yam admits pondering a possible crash. “I always think I should keep my camera handy so that if the helicopter dives I can do a moment-by-moment report.”
Okay, but meanwhile does she absolutely have to stick her head out the helicopter door during every report? “It doesn’t feel right if I don’t,” she giggles, “because my legs are so short!”

Bliss at Bonanza
Businessman Songkran Techanarong and actress Taksaorn “Aff” Paksukcharern will wed on May 4, according to a reliable source – his dad Paiwong, who owns the busy Bonanza property in Khao Yai.
And he got the news from his son. “I don’t know why he chose that date but I’m delighted because I’m very fond of Aff – she’s a good woman and I told him to never let her down.”
While explaining that Songkran’s mother will be handling the wedding details, Paiwong says he’d be happy to close Bonanza for the day so they could have it there.
If so, avoid Khao Yai Park altogether on May 4, because the roads will be jammed just with wedding guests.
