Loving spoonfuls on Valentine's Day

All this month, popular restaurant chain S & P International is celebrating love and lovers with a special selection of delectable dishes, cakes and desserts as well as healthy smoothies and shakes made from strawberries.

Over the last 39 years, S &P has created more than 100 menus bursting with flavour and high in nutrition. For Valentine’s Day, its chefs have prepared a range of dishes on the theme “Simply Love” using strawberries, local herbs and fruits as the main ingredients.

There are four main dishes from which to choose depending on your own love style. “Love on roll”, designed for intimate couples, features tempting shrimp rolls served with fried-vegetables for Bt135 while “Love fish”, for those enjoying a colourful relationship, is deep-fried dory in a succulent sweet and sour sauce served with a portion of heart-shaped rice and healthy gac fruit for Bt145.

“Rocket love” salad in a basket of deep-fried Tortilla flour served with Italian pork sausages and balsamic sauce for Bt145 is a great choice for those wanting to declare their love loudly while those swearing eternal love should opt for “Carbonara with love”, spaghetti mixed with ham and bacon and topped with shrimp roes for Bt155.

“We have more than 370 branches nationwide and always offer a range of exclusive menus to suit special occasions. Our ‘Simply Love’ range aims to draw young lovers,” says marketing director Somjate Wattanavaekin. “For me, the highlight is the Love Fish served with gac fruit. It contains such antioxidants as lycopene and beta carotene that are good for health.”

With the meal, enjoy a “Love Potion”. You can choose between a scrumptious strawberry smoothie glow made from strawberry, banana and yoghurt for Bt105 or tingling strawberry lime soda is Bt90.

Dessert enthusiasts should try the hot chocolate pudding served with sliced strawberry and vanilla ice cream (Bt195) or perhaps the strawberry fresh cream cake that goes for Bt415.
