I read with mild amusement your analysis piece on the front of Wednesday’s edition where Pheu Thai MP Pracha Prasobdee “proves” the Four Seasons Hotel meeting to be “above board”. The critical aspect of this proof is apparently that the meeting took place in the business centre. Quite what relevance this is to the probity of the meeting totally eludes me.
Any doubt that this MP’s judgement was seriously flawed was then swept aside when he said, “The prime minister can meet anybody as long as it does not threaten national security.” It does not matter whether he actually believes this or not, but by uttering it he has shown that he has no understanding of the acceptable boundaries between private and public life.
