Thaksin at fault? I blame the Democrats

When the reconciliation commission concluded that the prolonged conflict in the country is caused by the Constitution Court's acquittal of Thaksin in the "hidden assets" case (in mid-2001), Thaksin's bashers stroked their chin and nodded in agreement.

But if you look deeper the conflict actually stems from a group of people neglecting their duty. As a political party, its duty is to contest in an election. The Democrats ignored their duty; they boycotted the April 2, 2006 general election because they knew they were going to lose to Thaksin for the third consecutive time. Knowing full well that the boycott would bring the country to a gridlock, they did it anyway.
