Thirty-two teams from around the country will battle in the national finals, organised for the second year by Tiger Beer and ESPN. The five-a-side format in a unique oval cage with no touchlines comprises two 6-minute halves with a two-minute halftime break.
As winners, the King of the Streets receive prize money of US$3,000 and get to represent the country at the international finals in Vietnam on September 28.
Meanwhile, the best four Thai teams today will be back at CentralWorld tomorrow to test themselves against opposition from Singapore, Vietnam, France and the Netherlands, with US$5,000 up for grabs.
“This year is also special because we have Edgar Davids – a legend and one of Fifa’s 100best living footballers – as our ambassador,” said Andrew Lamont, commercial director of Tiger beermaker Thai Asia Pacific Brewery.
