I would like to mention at the outset about the principle of non-interference in internal affairs that is so cherished by members of Asean.
I would like to note how sensitive the Vientiane and Phnom Penh governments are to the possible presence of their respective “anti forces” and to the holding of seminars critical of their regimes in Thailand. I would like to remind Vientiane and Phnom Penh how the Abhisit government strictly respected the principle of non-interference and the principle of good neighbourliness.
Allowing Thaksin to hold rallies and courts is nothing short of interference and taking sides. Let us remind ourselves of “doing unto others”.
Let us be fully aware of the “Arab Spring”. I hope the Brunei Embassy also takes notice of this matter. Personal friendship cannot take precedence over the country or the people.
