Former prime minister Abhisit Vejjajiva never fails to baffle me.
After the series of bombs went off in Yala and Hat Yai, childish as he is, he rushed to the bomb site in Hat Yai as if to brag “Ha! Ha! I beat you, girl”, and his spokesman didn’t waste a nanosecond to launch a tirade at PM Yingluck for not touring the site as quickly as Abhisit did.
Any level-headed opposition leader would have condemned the bombers, offered condolences to the victims, and vowed to work side-by-side with the government to cope with the situation. (I got a lump in my throat, imagining him doing that.)
Doing so would create a cool atmosphere of reconciliation and unity in the country, something Abhisit is always preaching about. But no, all he cares about is a little opportunity to deliver a cheap shot at the government; never thinking about the welfare of people and the country.
