William and Kate
Meanwhile at Madame Tussauds London, Prince William’s wife Kate has made her debut.
New figures of the couple were unveiled on Wednesday. The Duchess of Cambridge-in-wax wears a replica of the blue Issa dress she wore at their 2010 engagement announcement, with a version of the sapphire and diamond ring once owned by William’s mother Diana on her finger.
New likenesses of the royal couple were also unveiled at Tussauds in New York, where Kate wears a replica Alexander McQueen gown, and in Amsterdam, where she wears a lace Temperley London dress.
Until now the model of Queen Elizabeth II was the most popular attraction, standing alongside her husband Prince Philip, Prince Charles, Diana, Camilla and Princes William and Harry.
Spirits summoned
Issey Miyake has introduced rice and the kachina – the spirits of North American’s Hopi tribe that are often depicted as colourful dolls – into his Pleats Please’s spring-summer collection.
The theme of the seasonal line is “Belief”, inspired by kachina devotees who see life in all objects of the universe. The collection embodies dolls, geometric prints and primitive handcrafted baskets.
You can find the clothes at the Issey boutiques at Siam Discovery and Central Chidlom.
