James has hugs for his old pals

It was a warm homecoming for singer Ruangsak "James" Loychusak at his "Dai Wela James" ("It's James Time") concert on Saturday, featuring the female singers who share his label, RS.

Napassorn “Momay” Buranasiri, Lakana “Aon” huangmaneerungrot and Suttida “Nook” Kasemsan Na Ayuttaya shone during the same period as James.
After the three each sang a song they crooned Raffy-Nancy’s “UFO”, and at the end they talked to James the way they used to chat and tease each other. Momay asked why James had to spread his arms out like Jack in “Titanic”. “Is it a sign to say goodbye to ‘James Khao Mun Kai’ and embrace ‘Khao Mun Kai Koh Tee’?” she asked. His fans used to call him James Khao Mun Kai because he sold chicken rice on the side.
James giggled and said he was just asking for a big hug. Then he spread his arms and embraced the three women. It was a lovely ending.

Lilly at peace
Flamboyant Thai-language teacher Kijmanoch “Kru Lilly” Rojanasab has built a Bt30-million dharma resort in Pakchong where people can stay for free. “I got a loan from the bank,” he said on TV’s “Tee Nee Mor Chit”.
Kru Lilly said he realised he’s at the time of life when he should be enjoying the “profits”. “Whatever I’m doing now is profit because I had nothing before. Now I can give. And I can’t describe how overwhelming it is when someone thanks me after attending a dharma class.
“If I die, someone could continue this, but if no one does and the bank seizes it, it’s still okay because the land and property is still in Thailand.”
Turning to dharma study after almost committing suicide because of a broken heart, Kru Lilly said he’s no angel. He tries to stay away from men he finds attractive. “I once turned down showbiz agent Supachai ‘A’ Srivichit when he brought a young look-krueng man to me to learn Thai. He was too gorgeous – I’d be too distracted.”
