W Bangkok is hosting “Madonna: A Transformational Exhibition” with never-before-seen images of the pop star until January 19, along with W Hotels Worldwide, Glacau vitamin water and Rock Paper Photo.
W Bangkok, Bangkok’s latest hotel addition and Thailand’s first urban W hotel, hosted its first party with the opening night of the exclusive travelling multimedia exhibition.
The pictures taken by Richard Corman and George DuBose combined with music and the wild illustrations of New York City street artist Alec Monopoly.
The global tour includes stops at W hotels in Mexico City, Paris and Singapore and winds up at W New York Times Square.
Corman, who has photographed Nelson Mandela, Kurt Vonnegut Jr and Keith Haring, has previously unseen snaps of Madonna in New York in classic 1980s street style. And Rock Paper Photo, an online gallery of fine-art photography gallery, was founded by Madonna’s long-time manager, Guy Oseary.
“Madonna was an original,” says Corman. “No one at that time had the look, the talent and the relentless attitude and fortitude to move her style forward at all costs. These images represent her fearlessness and charismatic bravado that to this day credits her with changing the course of pop culture.”
W Bangkok, which opened on December 7, brings cutting-edge design to North Sathorn Road in its 407 guestrooms and suites with state-of-the-art technology. The hotel combines a 31-floor modern glass tower with a century-old, European-inspired heritage building. It’s Thailand’s first urban W Hotel, following on from W Retreat Koh Samui.
