When a Chinese astrologer in Shanghai told Preecha Songwattana that he was destined to work until he died, the co-founder of clothing brand Flynow was delighted. Preecha tells Hello! magazine that, even after four decades, he still loves his job, and actually regards work as a “hobby”. His three children have all joined him in the Flynow Group too. “When you’re bored with a certain task, you can always switch to another,” he says.
Things can’t be too boring at the moment as Flynow expands beyond the FN Factory Outlet, of which Preecha is the president, with its boutique and office-uniform factory doing well.
He says his work is so much like a real-life “‘Monopoly’ game for millionaires” that he has no need for any entertainment. “I don’t even watch movies!”
No stress? Not with all three children married and providing him with four grandchildren. Plus, they’re all moving together into a big new compound of four houses. If Preecha does ever tire of work, the grandkids are within walking distance.
Worked out well
Exercise brings its own pay-off in the form of fitness and feeling good about yourself. Of course no one’s going to object if you get paid a little cash as well. Actress Janie Thienphosuvan swan dives into summer as one of this year’s first swimsuit cover girls, and more than happy to show off the results of a rigorous three-year exercise regimen.
Janie makes her bikini debut in Image magazine. “The money isn’t my aim – I already achieved so much just from regular exercise,” she says, referring to four workouts a week, four hours at a time.
To the inevitable prudes measuring the amount of skin she’s showing, Janie begs for scrutiny of her health instead. “I put everything into this photo shoot because I prepared for it for three years. I’d love to persuade younger people to work out instead of always going on diets.”
So we’ll probably be seeing “more of her”, so to speak.
