Mystery of the missed meeting

Thaksin Shinawatra's increasingly vocal son Panthongtae is waging another "war on the wall" - the Facebook conversation wall - with Vorakorn "Jay" Chatikavanij, the wife of Democrat Party big shot Korn.

Oak “informed” his 144,000 Facebook followers that Korn and Jay recently travelled to Hong Kong to meet “someone”, but waited in vain for two hours. The clear intimation was that Korn wanted to discuss something with Thaksin, who’s often in the Chinese territory. If true, it would have been an astonishing meeting of enemies.
Jay said Oak, as Thaksin’s boy is known, was just making stuff up, and that if her husband ever tried to meet Thaksin, it would have to be over her dead body.
So Oak posted a picture of the couple in what’s supposed to be a Hong Kong hotel lobby and said Jay should be clear about “whether they met or failed to meet someone” rather than chattering about dead bodies.
“Why on earth does he think people want to see his dad?” Jay responded. “I wonder if even his mum ever wants to go, because she’d have to hide from the cameras. If we wanted to see the person that almost half of the country loathes, would we dare be sitting openly in the hotel lobby?”
So why, Oak asked, did they waste two hours loitering in a hotel lobby? They were obviously there to meet his dad, he implied, and his dad obviously didn’t want to meet them. “Isn’t it clear that my ‘side’ wouldn’t agree to meet you two, no matter what the circumstances?”
Momentum mounted as Democrat supporters and red shirts voiced their opinions on the social media.
What’s clear, Jay concluded, is that Oak has something up his sleeve, inventing a controversy as a smokescreen to cover up some other issue – like maybe the amnesty debate, or the new bazillion-baht debt? She didn’t specify.
But if what Jay suggests is true, the young man is even more creative that we gave him credit for.
