As has become a tradition during Songkran, folks from Bangkok and nearby provinces poured into Chiang Mai over the holiday to enjoy the fantastic range of entertainment on offer.
One of the most popular events was the “Sor Bor More Party: Ying Suk Ying Sad” held in front of Kad Suan Kaew shopping complex over three consecutive afternoons and featuring high-energy sets by Lula, Superbaker, Paradox, Lipta, Playground, Big Ass, Slot Machine, Jetset’er, and Tattoo Colour.
Lula was the first out on stage singing her bossa nova style numbers and was followed by Superbaker, who played covers of hits “Krapao Ban Fan Thing”, “Od Od” and “Oxygen”, before handing over to Paradox for a tight rock set.
The second day opened with a show by duo Lipta, who had the crowd singing and dancing along to hits like “Kamnan”. Playground was next up with a set that included “Ploy Wang”, “Ruang Sommut” and “Moom”. Big Ass was the last band of the day and rocked the audience with their much-loved tracks “Thao Thi Mee”, “Khon Mai Ao Than”, “Kerd Ma Khae Rak”, “Korn Tai”, “Thang Phan”, “Len Khong Soong” and “Lom Plien This”.
On the last day, Slot Machine played a few hits before singer Sethapong “First” Durongjirakan jumped off the stage and enjoyed a water fight with the crowd. Jetset’er and Tattoo Colour followed, with sets that included “Faak Thi”, “Kha Moo”, and “Arkaj Ron”.
