The Democrat Party advised the government to take a soft approach on Thawil Pliensri. It also reminded the government to stick to the merit system, and not resort to favouritism in the bureaucracy.
The advice is somewhat pale since during Abhisit Vejjajiva’s era some ministers behaved just like some ministers in this government in bullying civil servants. The ugliest was one minister during the caretaking period bullied one director-general to an extreme. He is now calling for reform of his party when previously a simple etiquette of not doing anything drastic during care-taking was not even respected.
Thawil’s career has been with the NSC since he was young, and per the court his previous transfer by PM Yingluck Shinawatra was not seen as reasonable. Having been put to humiliation and made jobless for almost two years, I call for Khun Thawil to take all legal recourses available, civil and criminal, against those wrongdoers so that in future those arrogant ministers of any party should think twice before using their political whims to thrash Khun Thawil’s fellow civil servants.
