The bags that see red

Duang Poshyanonda launches a new line of stylish Rouge Rouge bags

The girl with the red lips is back with a new collection of clutch bags inspired by Salvador Dali, Rene Magritte and Sherlock Holmes.
Her first collection, Prisme, was introduced two years ago and designer Duang Poshyanonda recently wowed fashionistas with her latest bag collection, Rouge Rouge Secret Service, which showcases her signature masculine-chic style through various leather clutch bags.
Duang transforms her own quirky yet elegant style into her works, incorporating stern lines, simple shapes, enticing colours and top quality leather. The latest collection of uniquely designed Vintage Book clutches in six covers are quickly becoming the most wanted items among Thai fashionistas.
Inspired by her fondness for Rene Magritte’s style art, Duang has also come up with the Magritte Bowler clutch in red and black velvet. Duang’s other style icon, Salvador Dali, also earns a spot in her latest collection. His iconic moustache inspired the Dali Mustache clutch made of pony hair and calfskin, with a mini leather cuff handle and metal zip. The “Dali Lips” series comes in crimson red, mandarin orange and fuchsia.
Girls are encouraged to sport their masculine side with bags inspired by Sherlock Holmes that come in the shapes of a pipe and a pistol.
Duang, who received a distinction with honours from the leading fashion school, Istituto Marangoni, Milan, is a graduate of the Fashion Promotion Master’s Programme.
In early 2010, she introduced her debut collection Prisme featuring unique, geometrically shaped handbags inspired by architectural elements and the design of skyscrapers in Milan and Paris as well as Duang’s own strong masculine-chic sense of style.
She is currently the editor-in-chief of Harper’s Bazaar Thailand.
