The buck stops at Yingluck's desk

Re: "Even the government's 'good news' is badly handled", Opinion, June 13.

Suthichai Yoon was right when he said Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra, who also chairs the National Rice Policy Committee, cannot pass the blame onto ministers who are in control of the government’s controversial rice price-pledging scheme if anything goes wrong. Her desk is where the buck stops.
Our prime minister has been doing the tango around this problem for too long. It’s time she realised her responsibility as our leader. If this rice-buying scheme incurred losses of catastrophic proportions, the PM must be prepared to take the blame.
And just to remind us all where the ultimate fault lies: PM Yingluck’s dear brother Thaksin – who used to point at his little sister and announce for the world to hear: “This is my clone”!
