Blair fooled by government ploy

Dear Mr Blair, Perhaps you know already, but the talks on reconciliation are a smokescreen. There is no reconciliation needed among Thai people.

If you look at regular Thai folks, you’ll see they get along reasonably well. The only real reconciliation issue in Thailand is among politicians. Take a step back and see the big picture: One man, who worships money and craves power, was deprived of portions of both. He’s still rich, so he can fund what is essentially a private mob, and direct them to do his vindictive will. In 2009 and 2010 his intent was to overthrow the government of the day, because he perceived that the prior government deprived him of a portion of his power and money. It worked, and he got the power back. Why is he still angry? Two reasons: He’s still out of pocket and he can’t easily return to Thailand. He’s determined to get his way, and will stop at nothing in that quest.
Look at who is making an ugly fuss about these issues. Are Thai people hassling each other? No. The worst hassles among Thais are those that crop up on any weekend in bars, same as in any country. Shall we convene a symposium of esteemed foreign guests to ameliorate weekend tussles among drunks? I don’t think so.
