Get your freak on, folks!

Loft and Betrend pull out the stops for a high-tension Halloween

EVERYTHING’S SUDDENLY gone all black and orange at the big malls as shoppers begin the annual hunt for props, home decor, stationery, IT gadgets and costumes for Halloween.
You should knock on the door at Loft first before you go trick-or-treating around the neighbourhood. Its Haunted Halloween sale has some frighteningly great costumes featuring black-leather crosses, leather gloves, skull bangles, skull rings, headbands adorned with bats and pumpkins, metallic angel wings, witch hats and pumpkin-shaped silicone bags for all your goodies.
If those don’t sound quite horrible enough for the unholy occasion, there are sparkling pumpkin lights, a red kitchen stand, downright evil-looking salt and pepper shakers, pumpkin pails, a Minnie Mouse pumpkin head, alien cushions and key holders that have morphed into cows, moose and deer.
Betrend at The Mall, Emporium and Siam Paragon has a Halloween Haunted Ville full of ghoulish decorative items. Your guests might be too scared to eat when you serve the wine in a ghastly bottle holders along with cupcakes coated in skull and pumpkin chocolate, on icky black rubber place mats.
More skulls spook the latest iPhone cases. A gold ring is set with a red skull, a necklace is festooned with devilish charms, and there are some wicked eyelashes available. Our vote for best costume in the shops right now is the truly terrifying Dracula outfit at Betrend.
