Stuvik accumulated 188 points after taking two victories in a row to remain atop the championship after five rounds, with Spaniard Alex Palou following at second with 168 points.
It was a hard fought win for Stuvik as the Italian RP Motorsport Team car struggled for pace during Friday’s testing. However, Stuvik was the man to beat in rain on Saturday.
In the first race, the Thai driver shot into lead and pulled away from the chasing pack to take the chequered flag with an eight-second lead over Palou. Israel’s Yarin Stern finished third.
In the second race on Sunday, Stuvik was locked in an intense battle with Palou. The Thai passed his rival in the last lap to score his second win of the weekend. Palou had to settle for second and Stern came third.
“I was very happy to take my second win for the weekend. With my rear tyres fading fast towards the end of the race, I knew Alex would be pushing me hard. I am delighted to take two victories with me from the legendary Silverstone Circuit.
“The next circuit Spa Francorchamps is definitely one of my favourites. I look forward to continuing the championship fight in Belgium,” the Thai racer said.
The championship takes a summer break before moving on to Spa Francorchamps in Belgium for the 6th round from September 6 to 9.
