Premier League fans to get 23 matches on free TV

Thai football fans will be able to watch 23 English Premier League games on free TV, after Channel 3 reached an agreement with rights holder CTH.

The 23 matches will be broadcast on Channel 3 (analogue) and via digital systems on Channel 3 Family (Channel 13), Channel 3 SD, Channel 28, Channel 3 HD and Channel 33, said the TV station’s executive vice president Surin Krittayaphongphun.
The free-TV coverage will feature the top EPL teams, along with EPL highlights at five minutes past midnight every Saturday night from August 24.
However, games on tomorrow’s opening day of the season will only be on pay-TV channel CTH.
Channel 3’s free coverage begins on August 23 with the Everton-Arsenal match at 11.15pm on Channel 3 Original and Channel 3 HD.
Next comes the Spurs-Liverpool clash on August 31 at 7.15pm on 3SD, followed by Arsenal versus Manchester City at 6.30pm on September 13 on Channel 3 Original and 3HD.
Channel 3 will also stage a “Stadium of Live” campaign featuring live matches on big screens at several landmarks in Bangkok, with fans getting the chance to meet TV stars and pop singers.
Meanwhile, major EPL sponsor Carlsberg has launched a free app called “Carlsberg Feeling” which offers fans live updates and pictures from all games.
