JC Wilcox argues that the war on terrorism has nothing to do with a phobia about Islam.
First let me state that I totally agree with him that some of the things Islamic extremists do are absolutely barbaric and should be condemned.
But here’s the problem: Moderate Muslims who witness Israel getting away with atrocities committed against Muslims feel that such hypocrisy shows disregard for Muslim lives. And Mr Wilcox is one of Israel’s most shameless apologists.
How come I never read any letters by Mr Wilcox condemning the persecution of Muslims in such countries as Myanmar, India and Sri Lanka?
It’s not bigoted to condemn Islamic extremism. But it is bigoted to only condemn violence by Muslims while everyone else gets away with their atrocities.
