TOP BRITISH BRAND Royal Ivy Regatta celebrates love, friendship and togetherness with its new spring-summer 2015 collection dubbed the “Duo Reflection”.
Launched at an exclusive event designed set up to resemble a photo exhibition, the space at Srichulasap Tower was decorated with large mirrors to reflect the concept as well as images snapped by Kanachai “Kit” Bencharongkul.
Kit was in attendance, as were such celebrity figures as Nathasedh and Sitamanin Poonsapmanee, Khunpol Issara, Patsarakorn Chirathivat, Piyarat Kaljaruek, Akarat Wannarat, Siraprapa Jirapan, Chakrit and Virithipa Yamnam, and Rasri Balenciaga.
Honorary models included MR Srikhumrung Yukol, MR Chalermchatri Yukol, Nathasedh and Sitamanin Poonsapmanee, Prakarn Raiva, Thanwalai Vacharaphol, Phitsinee Tanwiboon plus Rika Dila and her son Raphael Tejavbulya.
Inspired by the harmonious way in which men and women reflect each other’s characters, the outfits came in a monochromatic palette of black, grey, white, khaki, beige, and bluish purple.
Womenswear was given a cool masculine look with the blazers draped in a modern asymmetric shape. The smart casual concept was highlighted through simple cutting, a sporty feel, and timeless style, such as the Baseball Jacket, a unisex jacket ideal for many occasions.
Fabrics were fun and interesting with the humorously named Crackle Bits and Brushstroke Rhythmic playing with colours and dimensions. Marbling made an appearance in men’s shirts and women’s skirts and there was plenty of washed denim in the Destroyed Jeans and patchwork jacket that looked like a piece of art.
Actress Rasri Balenciaga wore a bright blue blazer with a sheer skirt while her partner, Patsarakorn Chirathivat, donned a black shirt and bright blue trousers from the men’s collection. Chakrit Yamnam and his wife Virithipa also graced the catwalk wearing matching outfits – black jackets with a silver chain –wrapping the show in style.
“I have two styles,” singer Prakarn Raiva told the press. “When I am in a concert, I dress to match the music. When I work in my family’s business, I wear something polite and simple. Sometimes I might accessorise my look with cuff links and a belt. I like classic pieces that can be worn anytime.”
Celebrity couple Nathasedh and Sitamanin Poonsapmanee talked enthusiastically about the Duo Reflection concept.
“This concept reminds me of something that comes in a pair, like the two of us. In terms of fashion, we share the same style. Some people might think that we dress alike on purpose. He has a feminine sleekness in him, while I have a masculine side, so our styles are very similar. Duo Reflection also makes me think about marriage. In the past, I only thought of myself. Now that I am married, I have to think about him, too. We are each other’s reflection,” Sitamanin said.
Thailand’s disco king Burin Boonvisut provided the night’s entertainment with a mini concert that won him loud applause.
