LEADING SPANISH footwear brand Camper is drawing inspiration from the sea, surf and sun in its spring-summer collection.
Creative director Romain Kremer’s techno-urban hybrids return with their moulded volume, 3D shapes, hi-tech treatments and minimalist design. The most popular models are revitalised with colour blocks that bring to mind an amusement park on a summer evening.
There are three themes. “Back to Future” harks back to the brand’s founding 40 years ago with a debut collection all in black and white. Accents of copper, blue and orange enliven the men’s Pelotas Scoop sandal, a classic design with a futuristic rubber outsole, and the Gehry sandal named after avant-garde architect Frank Gehry.
The “Pastel” series affords a pick-n-mix of natural treatments and an explosion of colours to heighten relaxed and playful moods. Trendy ladies will adore the Bowie oxfords and boots of velvet leather, the Enduro hybrid car shoe and the retro ankle boots in patent leather.
The “Neon” theme evokes water sports, light and flexible for top performance. Twin trainers with a retro touch are among the highlights, as are Blobb shoes, reminiscent of the classic Beetle, but more feminine in shape.
