A 55-INCH FULL HD TV with impressive picture quality and smooth motion, the LG Curved OLED TV EC930T brings real life into your living room thanks to its OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) display with vibrant colours.
Boasting 1920 x 1080-pixel resolution along with pixel dimming and 4-colour pixel technologies, the colours are more lifelike than with other TVs.
Every single pixel of the OLED panel generates light itself and turns on and off independently. This achieves an unprecedented black level even in dark scenes and enhances the depth and vitality.
The 4-colour pixel technology adds a white sub-pixel to modify the conventional red, green and blue, enhancing both colour range and accuracy.
The brilliance of the OLED allows its nuanced colours to exceed the industry’s BT709 standard in Wide Colour Gamut Mode thus achieving natural reproduction of content.
What’s more, the response time of the LG OLED TV is 100 times faster than LED/LCD TVs, allowing you to enjoy fast-moving scenes with minimal blur and adding new life to sports channels.
And the OLED panel allows the EC930T to be pencil thin. At the thinnest section, the TV has a screen depth of only 4.3 millimetres.
But while the EC930T is designed to deliver an immersive, IMAX-like viewing experience, I had to sit surprisingly close to the screen to feel immersed.
That said, during the test with True Visions’ satellite TV broadcasts, I was impressed by the image quality. As promised, the colours were vibrant and the dark screen looked very black, adding depth to images. Fast action movies also looked clear as the OLED technology offers absolute motion clarity.
I enjoyed watching the “Extant” and “House of Cards” series as well as “America’s Got Talent” on the RTL CBS Entertainment HD channel. The pictures were very sharp and clean with plenty of depth.
I also enjoyed watching “Asia’s Got Talent” on AXN HD channel. The pictures were impressively sharp and clear.
The EC930T is based on the LG Smart+ TV, which incorporates the new webOS platform. The webOS is simple to use as it introduces a minimalist graphical user interface (GUI) that delivers an uncomplicated and intuitive user experience.
For example, you simply click on the Home button to pick out contents and functions from a Launcher located at the bottom of the screen. Launcher lets you switch back and forth between broadcast programmes and choice content.
The webOS made it easy to tune in for terrestrial digital TV channels. I used a rooftop antenna and found that the TV received signals from the digital TV channels without problem. The HD channels, such as Thairath TV HD, looked very sharp.
The EC930T has a built-in Wi-Fi connection and I was able to easily connect to my Wi-Fi router and use the web browser to watch Internet TV smoothly and with impressive sharpness and resolution.
The EC930T also features CINEMA 3D, which utilises LG’s proprietary Film Patterned Retarder (FPR) technology to generate convincing 3D images without any distracting flicker or crosstalk. Users can also take advantage of an advanced conversion engine that turns 2D content into 3D entertainment.
The TV uses a 2.0 speaker system with |40 watts of out put and Ultra Surround technology to deliver good sound to complement the pictures.
The EC930T also supports several wireless connection technologies, including Smart Mobile Link, Miracast and WiDi. |It also provides two USB2.0 port and one USB3.0 port for connecting to external storage. And of course, it doesn’t come cheap. The LG Curved OLED TV EC930T has a suggested retail price of Bt149,990.
