Seizing licences won’t drive drunks off the road

Re: “Prayut prefers to seize licences from drunk drivers”, National, January 5.
Every person in this country can tell you exactly what will happen next. Those caught will drive without a licence, as some do already, or bribe someone to give them a new one.
Drunk drivers already show poor judgement, and they won’t suddenly wise up.
Anyone who really believes that seizing licences means the drivers “can’t go out and drink-drive again”, as Prayut claims, should rethink the idea!
