Pavit, Phachara and Thitiphun fall 2 shots behind leaders in Australia

Pavit Tangkamolprasert carded two eagles for an opening 68 to trail co-leaders by two strokes along with fellow Thais Thitiphun Chuayprakrong and Phachara Khonwatmai in the ISPS Handa World Supr 6 Perth on Thursday.

The 2015 ADT Order of Merit winner highlighted his round with two eagles on the seventh and 15th holes and three birdies against three bogeys.  Briton Mark Foster and Robert Dinwiddie, each with a 66 shared the top spot of the leader’s board.

“I was lucky to play in the morning as it wasn’t so windy. I drove the ball well and had some good putts. It was very difficult to estimate the wind directions as there are so many trees out there,” said the one-time Asian Tour winner.

“The turning point was hitting those eagles. On the seventh I hit a 270 yard to the green and made the putt. On the 15th I hit a 240 yard close to the pin.” Added Pavit.

Thitiphun sank eight birdies against four bogeys while teen sensation Phachara had six birdies against two bogeys. They were tied at 13th, a shot behind the pack of 10 players.
