Classic style met rock ’n’ roll sensibilities in the pieces from Punsiri’s Missile brand.
Punsiri set out in 2005 to use his photographer’s eye to find jewellery that served the preferences of people who love the classic style, rock music and modern art. He selected Silpakorn University graduate Pakorn Wongkittikraiwan, whose designs take their cues from everyday life.
“The exhibition presents the inspirations for each piece,” Punsiri said. “There are two sections. In the first we present the new collection through installations, sculpture, movies and photographs of the inspirations. You’ll see four sculptures in the shapes of a jacket, tape cassette, guitar and pair of headphones.
“The second section is ‘Stupid Love Songs’, with photos of 12 public figures whose character matches that of the brand.”
Pattareeya Na Nakorn, MR Niphanopdara Yugala, Rika Dila, Phorntehep Wanpatae, Chermarn Boonyasak, Arak Amornsuphasiri, Pakorn Lum, Metal Sukkhao, Ploy Horwang, Cheeranut Yusanon, Pongsakorn Limsakul and Methas Thepnual are seen listening to their favourite love songs, and their facial expressions say a lot.
“We also have 12 classic pieces of jewellery from Missile on exhibit,” Punsiri said.
The brand’s “Legend” line has nostalgia at its heart, recalling the golden age of rock ’n’ roll. The emphasis is on function and varied utility.
The bracelet features removable plates engraved with song names. The White Falcon Pendant evokes a Gretsch hollow-body guitar in a necklace whose interchangeable charms are shaped like a guitar pick, guitar head and body joint.
The White Falcon Ring is also formed like a guitar, and the Wheel Motorcycle Ring looks like the wheel of a Harley.
See them all at the Missile store of the third floor of Siam Center and the second floor of CentralWorld.
