Twenty-five applicants will be selected for the programme run by the United Nations Development Programme, United States Agency for International Development’s Adapt Asia-Pacific Project, Regional Resource Centre for Asia and the Pacific, and Asian Institute of Technology.
The training sessions will take place from August 21 to September 1 at the United Nations Convention Centre in Bangkok.
The objective is to equip government officials and other stakeholders in the region with the economic tools necessary to identify, prioritise, design and implement climate-resilient projects and policies, formulate national adaptation plans and access finance for adaptation action.
Key economic principles will be introduced, climate-change impacts on the region reviewed, economic impacts assessed, and investment projects and climate-proofing options analysed for cost-benefits.
