Tantrum-prone Trump offers lesson for keyboard warriors

Thomas Turk is right that Eric Bahrt should calm down a bit. Keyboard warriors, safe in their bedrooms, pour vitriol on opponents as an alternative to that face-to-face physical confrontation they would never risk. At least, in The Nation, we are spared the vulgarity and swear words that dominate the non-traditional media. Like it or not, all that we keyboard warriors achieve is to be famous for five seconds – if we are lucky!
Donald Trump is instructive here. He tweets all the time and also has the full panoply of the US government propaganda at his beck and call. But all he is proving is that the United States is run by a six-year-old child who throws his dinner plate on the floor when he can’t get his own way. Carry on keyboarding, Eric – but remember, it’s entertainment. We convince only our allies and not our critics.
