Barry Kenyon writes that I sometimes “go over the top” when I respond to my critics. I don’t deny that but my disgust for those people is justified. Using the issue of vegetarianism as an example, it doesn’t matter how many times I’ve answered every one of my critics arguments point by point – they still keep coming back with the same arguments that I’ve already debunked.
For example, after I noted in a letter that some of the world’s greatest athletes and bodybuilders were vegetarians or vegans (and I gave an extremely small sample), Paul writes a few days later that vegetarians are nutritionally deficient (“Now, eat that!”, November 27). These people just don’t give a damn about the facts! (Incidentally, perhaps Paul didn’t see earlier letters of mine in which I noted that the highest level of pesticide residue is found in meat.)
Often my critics resort to personal attacks (many of them blatantly slanderous) making anti-Semitic remarks and practically calling me a sexual degenerate because I used to live in Pattaya. They even ridicule my looks – despite having never met me.
Yet I’m suppose to put on the kid gloves when I respond to these disgusting and miserable excuses for human beings? When pigs fly!
