Violence of Israel’s occupation not softened by medical care 

Andy Leitner is extremely disingenuous. In his second letter he says that Arabs who are Israeli citizens have access to adequate healthcare in Israel. In his first letter he was clearly referring to Palestinians in the Occupied Territories who are suffering horribly when he said they too have easy access to healthcare. He now acts as though he never wrote that letter.
As for the terrorist attacks, they are being provoked by Israel’s occupation and illegal spreading of the settlements. Don’t forget, America had an entire bloody revolution over a silly tea tax (“taxation without representation”). So why expect the Palestinians, who are far more oppressed than the American colonies were, to be Gandhi-style pacifists? As the 1960s black civil rights leader H Rap Brown said: “Violence is as American as cherry pie”.
