Trump gave away the circus
The United States-North Korea summit was a circus and, as usual, the main clown was Donald Trump.
For his own political reasons, Trump is acting as though some major breakthrough has occurred, when so far North Korea has given up absolutely nothing.
What North Korea got from that summit is the international recognition it craves, a promise from Trump to suspend military exercises with South Korea, and there is even now talk that China may lift economic sanctions against North Korea.
What did Trump get? A vague promise (that has been broken in the past) to agree to denuclearisation and the “destruction” of a nuclear site (the “destruction” not verified by scientists) after they already developed nuclear weapons under Trump’s watch.
There is no reason to believe that America will get a better deal from North Korea than the one we already had with Iran before that sociopath in the White House destroyed it.
