Myanmar joins Miss Earth for the first time
Miss Earth Myanmar Ei Mon Khine is the first Myanmar competing in the Miss Earth 2014 pageant in the Philippines.
"Ei Mon Khine was crowned Miss Earth Myanmar 2014 during the Miss Golden Land Myanmar 2014 pageant. She left for the Philippines on November 6 to compete in Miss Earth 2014."
"Miss Earth is one of the biggest beauty pageants in the world so we are very satisfied that Myanmar has been allowed to participate in such kind of pageant. We have provide necessary training to Ei Mon Khine with local and foreign trainers so I believe she will do her best," said an official from Miss Golden Land Myanmar Organisation.
Running until November 29, the 14th Miss Earth beauty pageant brings together contestants representing over 90 countries.
Aside from her mastery of Myanmar, English and Korean, Ei Mon Khine, 22, is a rising model who’s well versed in a traditional Myanmar dance, singing, yoga and wushu. She was the first runner-up in the Miss Globe Myanmar 2014 pageant.
