Thai wife falls to death from Bangkok condo

The Thai wife of a 52-year-old Japanese man fell to her death from her husband’s room on the 18th floor of a Bangkok condominium early Saturday in what her husband claimed to be a suicide jump.

The incident at a 25-floor condominium on Soi Sukhumvit 26 was reported to Thonlor police station and 1:30 am.
When police arrived at the scene, the husband, Hiroyuki Nakajima, was sitting and crying beside the mangled body of Kwanjai Pintakan, 33, a resident of Buengkan province.
Nakajima, who works at a firm in the Bang Pu industrial zone, claimed that his Thai wife jumped on her own after they quarreled.
Police found traces of fighting in the room and found the woman’s sandals at the balcony of room.
Close-circuit cameras of the condo showed the two walking into the condo at 10 minutes after midnight, quarreling. The woman was seen hitting her husband all the time.
Not long after that, the Japanese man was seen running out of the lobby of the condo to the ground floor.
Kwanjai’s body was sent to the Chulalongkorn Hospital for an autopsy.
Condo staff told police that the two have been living together for many years but they quarreled often. Thy ate at a Japanese restaurant Friday night and the husband was drunk before they returned to the condominium.
