Three fined for fishing illegally in Mu Koh Similan National Park

Three men have been fined after they were found catching fish in Mu Koh Similan National Park in Phang-nga on Sunday.

Private fishing is illegal inside the marine national park area.
Park head Ruamsin Manajongjaroen said on Monday that three men had been fined after being discovered catching fish in the national park area.
A speedboat, the “Songjai”, was found in the national park by officials on Sunday.

They found one giant trevally fish weighing about 4 kilograms on board, along with eight fishing rods and other fishing equipment.
Three Thais – Ruengsak Sakwong, Patompong Buasri and Wiwat Panan – admitted to fishing in the park and were fined a total of Bt6,000, Ruamsin said.
