A fire swept through a plaza in Phuket’s Krathu district early Thursday, damaging many shops, police said.

Pol Lt Col Patiwat Yodkwan, an inspector from Patong police station, said the fire broke out at the SB Plaza near the Jungceylon Shopping Centre on Rat-uthit road in Tambon Patong at 2 am.

Fire fighters took about an hour to control the blaze, which damaged 12 rows of shops.

No one was injured in the fire.

Police have yet to investigate the cause.
