Deputy Prime Minister and Commerce Minister Jurin Laksanawisit will represent Thailand at the 16th China-Asean Expo in Nanning today and tomorrow (September 20-21).

He also will meet Han Zheng, a deputy premier of China, to discuss trade in rice and rubber and to update him on Cabinet deliberations over the Chinese proposal to build a high-speed railway in Thailand.

And he will chair a ceremony at which the two countries sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on cooperation over agricultural products.

Jurin will then visit India from September 24-28 to meet businesspeople and attend a seminar on bilateral trade partnerships.

He will witness the signing of several MOUs, including pacts between Thai and Indian commercial banks, rubberwood and furniture companies, SMEs and other industries.

The agreements are expected to increase business opportunities for Thais in India with its vast population.
