ONWR completes framework on tackling water crises

Samroeng Sangphuwong, deputy secretary-general at the Office of National Water Resources (ONWR), said his agency completed the upgrading of the framework of the National Water Management structure on Tuesday (September 24). He was speaking after meeting with Lt-General Kraiboon Suadsong, chief of the Police Strategy Office.

This framework includes the operation and organisation process when handling water crises and the setting up of a water-management war room at the ad hoc water-management centre. ONWR is scheduled to submit the completed framework to Deputy Prime Minister Prawit Wongsuwan, after discussing it with the Thai Meteorological Department, the Hydro-Informatics Institute, Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency, the Royal Irrigation Department, the Department of Water Resources and the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand among others.
