The National Astronomical Research Institute of Thailand has revealed on its website that an Orionids meteor shower will be visible from 11pm of October 21 to 1am of the following rate, with an average of 20 stars falling per hour. After 1am the moonlight will reportedly be too bright to see the meteor shower.

Apart from the meteor shower, other stars near the Orion constellation will also appear brighter such as the orange and yellow Betelgeuse, the blue and white Rigel and the brightest Sirius of Canis Major constellation.

The recommended time to see and take photographs is at around midnight, because Thailand will be directly in line with the shower. The shower will be more visible in dark areas outside bright city lights and upcountry.
