The National Astronomical Research Institute of Thailand (NARIT) said the phenomenon of greenish-blue light coupled with an exploding sound in the sky in some northern provinces on Tuesday evening was likely a bolide, an extremely bright meteor that explodes in the atmosphere.

The National Astronomical Research Institute of Thailand has revealed on its website that an Orionids meteor shower will be visible from 11pm of October 21 to 1am of the following rate, with an average of 20 stars falling per hour. After 1am the moonlight will reportedly be too bright to see the meteor shower.
