Thais in Wuhan to be evacuated on Tuesday

The government has told concerned authorities to prepare for evacuation of Thai people from Wuhan in China on Tuesday (February 4), emphasising the safety of the officials and Thai people, Government Spokeswoman Narumon Pinyosinwat said on Monday (February 3).

Deputy Prime Minister Prawit Wongsuwan had confirmed recently that Thai AirAsia will be allowed to evacuate all Thais living in and visiting Wuhan, China, on Saturday (February 1).
Narumon said that the Ministry of Public Health has prepared the plan to take care of Thai people once they depart from Wuhan until they arrive in Thailand and also prepared equipment needed for the operation in which all sectors are working closely.
“All passengers will be screened before boarding the plane and after arriving in Thailand,” she said. “They will be quarantined at designated hospitals for 14 days.”
She added that the Royal Thai Embassy in Beijing had already sent officials to help Thai people in Wuhan city.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Public Health and the Royal Thai Navy said there are four quarantine areas to take care of all returnees:
1 The reception building of Sattahip Naval Base
2 Arpakorn Kiattiwong Hospital in Sattahip Naval Base
3 Guest houses in Sattahip Naval Base
4 Bamrasnaradura Infectious Diseases Institute
