Thunderstorms, lightning with gusty winds and hail are forecast for the Northeast. People should keep off unsecured buildings and outdoor installations and farmers have been advised to beware of damage to crop.
Meanwhile, the weak easterly wind blowing across the Gulf, will bring isolated thundershowers in the South, the department said.
The weather forecast for the next 24 hours is as follows:
Northern region: Hot weather during the day with thundershowers in 10 per cent of the area; temperature lows of 16-24 degrees and highs of 33-38 degrees Celsius.
Northeastern region: Hot weather during the day with thundershowers in 20 per cent of the area along with gusty winds and hail, temperature lows of 22-25 degrees and highs of 36-38 degrees Celsius.
Central region: Hot weather during the day with isolated rains; temperature lows of 23-26 degrees, highs of 35-38 degrees Celsius.
Eastern region: Partly cloudy with thundershowers in 10 per cent of the area; temperature lows of 25-27 degrees, highs of 32-37 degrees Celsius; waves a metre high.
Southern region (east coast): Partly cloudy with isolated rains; temperature lows of 21-26 degrees, highs of 31-35 degrees Celsius; waves a metre high.
Southern region (west coast): Partly cloudy with isolated rains; temperature lows of 22-26 degrees, highs of 33-36 degree Celsius; waves a metre high.
Bangkok and surrounding areas: Hot weather during the day with thundershowers in 10 per cent of the area; temperature lows of 25-26 degrees, highs of 35-36 degrees Celsius.
