A member of Parliament of the ruling Phalang Pracharat Party, Pittinan Rak-iad, on Monday travelled to Tha Chana Police Station in Surat Thani province to notify the police after he was accused of being involved in the hoarding of face masks.

After a picture of Sornsuwee Puraweerassawach, who was allegedly hoarding face masks to export to China, and Pittinan was revealed, there was speculation in the media that he was related to Sornsuwee’s face mask business.
Pittinan explained that he did not know Sornsuwee personally but they had meals with their colleagues on February 20 and Sornsuwee had asked to take a picture with him.
Sornsuwee later posted on his Facebook account that they had a conversation about the face mask business the same day.
