NBTC holds meet in support of Work from Home policy
Takorn Tantasith, secretary-general of National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC), recently discussed with domestic internet providers on setting service guidelines in support the government's Work from Home policy. At the meeting, it was proposed that :
1. All internet providers must maintain quality and speed of their services according to the subscribed packages, regardless of increasing usage.
2. Providers need to focus more on maintenance for efficient service, so as not to cause problems for people working from home.
3. NBTC will request Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA) to suspend work on its underground cable project to avoid affecting high internet usage at this time.
4. Internet providers need to be prepared to raise capacity to facilitate growing usage at homes.
