Rent cut for exhibitors at Bangkok STYLE expo

Rent cut for exhibitors at Bangkok STYLE expo

The government is cutting the rent for traders at one of Thailand’s largest international trade fairs to help ease the economic shock of the virus pandemic.

The Department of Internal Trade Promotion (DITP) will reduce rents for entrepreneurs who register to participate in the STYLE Bangkok 2020 trade fair, running from October 21-25 at Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre (BITEC), the department’s director general Somdet Susomboon revealed.

The annual expo is a combination of three prestige international trade fairs: Bangkok International Fashion Fair and Bangkok International Leather Fair (BIFF & BIL), Bangkok International Gifts and Bangkok International Houseware Fair (BIG + BIH), and Thailand International Furniture Fair (TIFF).
The DITP will reduce the rental fee from Bt20,000 to Bt17,000 per 9 square metres. Moreover, if the entrepreneurs register by May 31, the rent will be cut to Bt13,600.
Exhibitors must register with the DITP to receive the rent reduction.
The first round of registration will close on May 31 and the second on June 30.
