Registration opens on April 15 for return of water deposits

Water users can register from 8am on Wednesday (April 15) for return of their water deposits.

The campaign is part of the government’s policy to alleviate the financial burden of people during the Covid-19 situation.
The Provincial Waterworks Authority (PWA) will return water deposits to residential users in 74 provinces nationwide, while users in Bangkok, Nonthaburi and Samut Prakarn can start registering on the Metropolitan Waterworks Authority’s website from May 1 onwards.
“There are three channels for registrations,” said the PWA announcement. “Users can log on to www.pwa.co.th, use the mobile application ‘PWA 1662’ or contact Line @pwathailand. Please refrain from coming down to the PWA headquarters and branch offices to reduce the risk of Covid-19 spreading.”
To register, users must input their name and surname, user’s serial number (available on the water bill), ID card number and mobile phone number. They also need to select the channel to get the money, which could be via PromptPay, bank account or counter service at 7-Eleven convenience stores.
PWA will start disbursing the deposit money from May 5 onwards while the registrants be notified by SMS beforehand. The water deposit will vary depending on the size of the meter as follows: half-inch meter will get the deposit of Bt100-Bt500, three-fourth inch meter will get Bt200-Bt1,000 and over 1 inch meter will get Bt300-Bt1,500.
