Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha has ordered relevant agencies to provide full assistance to students and Thais in Egypt, after some have contracted Covid-19, while the government has coordinated a team of doctors and embassy officials to take care of those infected, Narumon Pinyosinwat, spokeswoman for the Prime Minister’s Office, said today (June 16).

She said four flights will bring 690 Thais home in July. These are among the 4,137 registered Thais in that country.

Two flights have already brought back 410 Thais from Egypt – on May 8 and June 9.

The Royal Thai Embassy in Egypt is in the process of surveying Thais who wish to return home.

“During the month of July, the government has prepared four flights to bring Thais in Egypt back to Thailand. They will arrive home on July 3,8,17 and 24,” Narumon said.
