Heat and haze forecast for upper Thailand; isolated thundershowers in some parts of country
The Thailand Meteorological Department said on Monday that a moderate high pressure from China extends to the Northeast and the South China Sea while the southerly and southeasterly winds blow over upper Thailand including Bangkok and its vicinity.
Hot weather and haze during the day are forecast for upper Thailand, while thundershowers with gusty winds are expected in the lower North, the Northeast, the Central, and the East.
Meanwhile, the easterly winds blowing over the South and the Gulf bring isolated thundershowers to the areas.
The weather forecast for the next 24 hours:
North: Hot weather with haze during the day, isolated thundershowers with gusty winds in 10 per cent of the areas; temperature lows of 15-23 degrees Celsius and highs of 34-40°C.
Northeast: Hot weather with haze during the day, isolated thundershowers with gusty winds in 20 per cent of the areas; temperature lows of 21-24°C, highs of 32-37°C.
Central: Hot weather with haze during the day, isolated thundershowers with gusty winds in 10 per cent of the areas; temperature lows of 23-26°C, highs of 36-39°C.
East: Hot weather with haze during the day, isolated thundershowers with gusty winds in 20 per cent of the areas; temperature lows of 24-26°C, highs of 31-36°C; waves a metre high and 1-2 metres offshore.
South (east coast): Isolated thundershowers in 10 per cent of the areas; temperature lows of 23-26°C, highs of 32-35°C; waves 1-2 metres high and two metres during thundershowers.
South (west coast): Isolated light rains in 10 per cent of the areas; temperature lows of 22-26°C, highs of 34-36°C; waves a metre high and over a metre offshore.
Bangkok and surrounding areas: Hot weather with haze during the day, isolated thundershowers in 10 per cent of the areas; temperature lows of 25-26°C, highs of 34-37°C.
